itinerary

Day 01
Arrive at Lima, transfer to your hotel, evening free, overnight at Lima.

Day 02
Discover the architectural and tourist attractions of Lima through a guided tour in the City Tour & Cathedral of Lima. This circuit will show you the city and its history in a comfortable and safe way. The tour begins in Miraflores where we'll visit the Love Park, the Costa Verde ocean front and the amazing Pyramid Pucllana, a pre-Inca archaeological site. This route continues to the historic center of Lima, there we'll discover the early days of the city and the most important events through its different periods. Enjoy a walking tour of Plaza Mayor, the tourist center of Lima. A great religious artistic influence shows in its churches and convents. Our first stop is the Basilica Cathedral of Lima, admirable space for their late Baroque, renaissance and plateresco artistic styles. We will see the crypt of Francisco Pizarro, enter the lower levels of the temple and tour the halls of religious art. We'll finish our tour with a visit to Santo Domingo Convent, former claustruo that holds the remains of Santa Rosa de Lima and San Martin de Porres; rest of the day is free, overnight at Lima.

Day 03
In the morning, you will be transferred to Lima airport to catch your flight to Cusco, arriving before noon, later, you will have a city tour of Cusco, visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m / 30 ft high and weighing over 350 tons, evening free, overnight at Cusco.

Day 04
The day starts with an early morning rise to transfer to Cusco train station for a 3 ½ hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as “The Lost City of the Incas”. Arrive at Aguas Calientes station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the incredible Macchu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you will have time to stroll around the archaeological site at your leisure, then we will return to Aguas Calientes for overnight.

Day 05
Today, we will catch the early train to Ollantaytambo, where we will have an excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit to the picturesque Indian Pisac Market held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, the shopping paradise of the Andes where barter is still practiced. In the afternoon, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle, late afternoon, we will head back to Cusco for overnight.

Day 06
At 8:30 AM, we will catch a flight to Juliaca, departing at 11:10 AM and arriving at 12:15 PM, upon arrival we will take a 1 hour drive to Puno, the city located on the shore of Lake Titicaca, sweet, clear and a deep diaphanous blue, it shimmers above South America at 3,812 meters (12,507 feet), the highest navigable lake in the world. It is considered the spiritual homeland of the Andean peoples and its 41 starkly beautiful islands are topped with traditional villages and ancient stone ruins that echo with myths and legends; rest of the day at leisure, overnight at Puno.

Day 07
Early in the morning, we will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique “Floating Islands” of the Uros. These ancient inhabitants of the Lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “Islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed called “totora” (Scirpus totora), vegetable fibre of the Papyrus family. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight.

Day 08
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport to catch your flight to back to Lima, connecting with your international departure flight.
